Do birds eat parsley?

Just planted a pot of herbs and placed it on an unused birdbath (about 3 feet off the ground) so the pesky rabbits will stay away. But something is eating the parsley!

There are no slugs, no caterpillars, and the other herbs that surround the parsley are untouched (basil, oregano, thyme, and mint).

The herbs have only been there two days and the parsley is almost gone - leaves eaten down to the stalk. We are in Phoenix - there are lots of birds in our yard, including quail and hummingbirds.

Rabbits can stretch pretty tall if they are hungry enough. This time of year some herbs are a 'tonic' for many animals. Birds will eat bright green anything this time of year. I think it's too early for caterpillars tho'.
