Genovese Basil outside still alive, should I pull it?

About ten Genovese Basil plants I planted outside last spring survived the winter so far and are still alive. I didn't pull them because the honey bees are still feeding on them. Someone said I should pull the plants out as old Basil is no good. The plants are mostly flowers, both fresh and dried up, but they still have green leaves on them. Should I leave them for another season? Does the quality of the leaves go down on an old plant?
