Cultivating Eleutherococcus senticosus

I am interested in learning about growing experiences with this interesting adaptogen herb. Has anyone grown this plant from seed? If so what was your source? Perhaps it is worthwhile buying a live plant instead? Would a plant survive shipment from the West to East Coast okay. From an internet search I found a single company called horizonherbs that sells this plant. I appreciate your input in advance.

I've always gotten good material from Horizon Herbs and would recommend them. They are plant people who love plants!

West Coast to East Coast shipping? I regularly order from a couple of west coast nurseries and I'm in NY State. No problems here. Shipping costs can be high if cross-country shipping of live plants but it is understandably so.

i actually have seeds, but after reading how to plant and harvest, i put it off.
It sounded to me like it takes years to be able to harvest roots.
im not big on root type plants anyway, but it seems it would take up space for years before i had a chance to use any

I ordered a plant from Horizon Herbs today as well as six other interesting herbs. I am looking forward to spring.
