Hi, my sweetgrass that has overwintered here and has dead leaves over new growth, has no smell. Is that normal? I thought the dead part has the most smell. Is it because it spent the winter outside?

I wouldn't expect the dead leaves that have been outside all winter to have much smell. Normally the sweet grass braids, which smell wonderfully, are green in color so I'm guessing that they are made by cutting living grass and let it dry. This is much different than the old spent last season's leaves that may have winter rains and snows on them.
