If you're having space issues, I would pull and replace it. In my opinion, the only reason to keep it would be for seeds and those are inexpensive enough to not worry about. I keep one plant of each variety and let them selfsow, but I have enough room in my herb garden to do it.

I usually don't get a chance to get anything real out of parsley in the second year so I generally treat it as an annual and plant new each year - growing conditions can make for quite a variety of different experiences. So leave at least a few plants to see how they do and then you'll know for future years.
