lavender bloom first year?

Hi all~
I'm wanting to plant lavender hidcote, munstead, grosso and provence this year for fresh cutting and drying. Will they bloom enough to use this first year? If not, then I need to plant more fillers for bouquets and wreaths.
Thanks a bunch!

RE: lavender bloom first year?

Depends upon how old/big the plants you intend to plant are. Many perennials do not reach their potential in the blooms until the plants are mature (3'ish years) and/or the plants are of sufficient size. Obviously this varies but it is a general rule of thumb.
