I, too am looking for French tarragon cuttings. I don't know what I can trade. Maybe some tomato seeds or something?

You cant try this:
Find some live FRENCH tarragon plants in suppermarket. Or buy fresh woody tarragons
and root thaem in water or soil. Last year I did that and managed
to have just one plant. But that was not enough. Last fall a local nursery
had a clearance on French tarragons. I baught three of thema at $1.50 eache and planted them
Good news! They overwintered an are growing nicely now.
Maybe this fall I will divide them. I love tarragons, fresh and chicken dishes.

I've read French tarragon can be extremely difficult to come by and many nurseries sell a different plant even though it's not labeled French Tarragon. This will be the first year I'll be trying to identify real tarragon and plant some. Did you have any problem figuring out if it really was French tarragon?

End-of-the-Season clearance sales are how I have added many perennial plants to my gardens. You take chances on them making the winter but you can afford the gamble at a fraction of the original prices!

If you are having problems finding a good source for real french tarragon locally, I might suggest mail-order from one of the reputable herb places like Richters, Horizon Herbs, or Nichols Nursery. I've ordered plants and seeds for years from all 3 and have nothing but good to say. Links included:
