I have two beloved basil plants which have been with me for the better part of a year which have suddenly turned unhealthy in the last two weeks. I don't see any evidence of pests and have attempted to use very light treatments of neem oil to no avail.

With Google, I learned about fusarium wilt - a common fungal soil disease with sweet basils - but I can't be sure if my plants have them or if I have some other issue, like regular root rot.
