I have a couple of large pots with different kinds of mints. The first couple of years they were great, big pots full of healthy plants. Last year, though, they only came back about halfway, really spotty. I fertilize them using osmocote.

I am thinking that I'm going to dump them out, replace the soil, and hack up the rootball into pieces and cover those pieces with new soil.

I'd rather just understand why they gave up....
