Variegated Perpetual Basil

Hello,

I have two basil plants that are perpetual basils. They have green and cream colored variegated leaves. I need to get them planted and am using pots for my herbs because it's really hot here and I've been keeping them on my carport which gets slanted morning sun for a couple of hours and more in the afternoons. I think they need more sun, but not the brutal direct sun we have down here. I'm thinking of making a raised herb stand to put the pots on and having a canopy of shade cloth over them like they do at the nursery. Just a small setup.

Does anyone here have this kind of basil and if so, have you grown it in pots? How does it do in pots.

From what I understand, this basil does not flower, so it doesn't ever bolt.

Thanks,

Vivian

Where did you buy it? I grow most of my basil in a bed that gets sun until about 3:30 in the afternoon.

I think you will have so much fun with your raised bed. You will probably find that actually planting it might be more helpful. Let me know what ya do. Have fun.
