One year I planted nasturtiums on the edge of my raised bed. They ended up being a trap crop instead of consumable. The flea beetles were covering them while leaving my veggies alone. I took grocery bags and quickly covered the plants(they're fast little buggers aren't they?), pulled them up by the roots, tied the bags and into the dumpster they went. I saw very few FBs the rest of the season and just used some Safer soap on those.

I have now found that the FBs have jumped over and ignored 15 feet of plants, from the basil to the flowers, and started in. Sigh. More showdowns, I fear.......aphids on the beans, little green voracious inch worm buggers on the mint. Chomp chomp. Here we go into summer.
