Hi all! I am new here and am excited to have found this place.

My current interest is to start growing some herbs in my kitchen window sill.

A bit about me & gardening/planting...i know NOTHING. *blush*

so i went to a nursery and simply bought:

---a pot of perpetuo basil

---a pot containing: basil, summer savory, and thyme

i dont know how i am meant to maintain these

nor do i know what to expect from these plants as far as how much or little i should pick from them so as to not run out of the herbs before they grow some more (naturally, dont pick all the leaves off at once...but you know what i mean...like yield of plant growth in what kind of time frame).

do i need to repot them? if so what kind of dirt to use?

lol...like i said...i know nothing...other than i like fresh herbs and they are costly at the grocery store so i wud like to give it a go on starting my own. it also seems like a fun kitchen-ey thing to do. i live in an apartment, so i will be keeping these inside on my kitchen window sill.

any advice/direction/whatever is very welcome.
