Without knowing what you are looking for, I can say that one type of plant per pot does often meet with the best growing success.

Is the pot the size of a thimble or a bathtub? It does make a difference. Generally, however, I agree with Fatamorgana - one plant per pot makes the plants more happy - less competition, and easier for you to tell what conditions it prefers as compared with another plant. Thing is, as I've said here many times, most herbs grow MUCH bigger than most people expect!

Do you plan on growing it inside or outside? Also, how much sunlight will it have?

What kind of gardening method do you plan on using? How much available grow space do you have? Most herbs really have no problem growing together, it would just depend on your goals.

The herb jars would get you more in less space, or maybe they are strawberry jars, good outdoors or in.

If you have ever tried a strawberry jar you know that they are there for their looks not for real live plants except for perhaps the bottom open area.

The only thing I have gotten to grow in a very short stawberry jar is a winter savory. Who knows how it got in the pot. Seems to be liking the bottom 4 inches of the pot.
