Albino Spearmint

Hi,
I thought you sluth's may be able to help me. My family has had mint for the past 30 years. I was visiting them.. and noticed a particular plant. It is PURE white as in no Chlorophyll at all. It is also right next to a couple variegated spearmint. Is this just a random gene oops.. or a soil deficiency? If an gene oops.. how rare is it? Put up against a sheet of white paper
