Rosemary might be dieing

I got a rosemary that was in a pot and planted it in my yard. It gets sun and I water it often but not alot. it my be in shock from the move....it keeps getting more brown on it every day so I cut in down to from a 5' to a 1'and 1/2 to remove all the brown dead branches...will this help the plant or did I do more damage? any information will help! Thanks, M

They sometimes die within a week for what reason I do not know. If you have any green branches I would take some cuttings and put them into new soil and keep the soil moist but not wet It pays to do this from time to time anyway. If you have any ground area I would set it outside anyway as it likes being in the ground anyway. Sorry to hear about your rosemary, may it live and give you enough for cooking.
