Hi,

I'm a novice gardener, and I've recently acquired some good spearmint and peppermint. Can someone tell me how to properly care for it? I've had mint tea before, courtesy of gardening friends, but I've never grown it myself.

Also can you tell me any precautions I should take? Such as which bugs to look out for and how to get rid of them?

They are hard to kill. Do you have it in containers? Or in the ground? If in a container outdoors, I would guess that it may need some shading through the hottest parts of your day.

I have it in the ground next to my backyard deck. It's in partial shade.

It gets thirsty and loves to wander so try to keep them from your other plants. But this far south you may not have that problem as our heat may stun its travels.
