Cleavers, etc.

I have wild cleavers growing around here, on fences, etc. My books say it's the same as sweet woodruff, but somehow that doesn't sound right to me. I thought woodruff was a low-growing woodlands flower/groundcover, and cleavers is a sun loving vine.

I'm almost ready for my experiment with making both calendula and cleaver ointment or creams for my skin. When in the States next week, I will try to get some cheap beeswax candles, some glycerin and something called "emulsifying ointment" from the pharmacy - if y'all tell me that's what I need!! This is a short trip to Chicago for ten days, then back to a hopefully still alive garden during the hottest, driest time of the year. A friend is coming to water - here's keeping the fingers crossed.
