**HELP Something eating up my thyme!!!!

I transplanted two thyme crawlers and within a week 1/3 of the plant is shriveled and dryed up. I am sure it's not due to lack of water since it has been raining a couple of times the past week. But I did find many brown small bugs that are like mealybugs except they're brown on the area that's dying. Anyone know what they may be? How can I get rid of these pest?
