 o
Sugar Loaf Chicory?

I was told this could be a member of the chicory family but I don't see elongated leaves - I see round ones.

Could this be sugar loaf chicory? The flowers are bluish in color. I think, perhaps, it is supposed to be cut back before it blooms but my friend didn't even know what it was, nor do we really know for sure that it is not a weed!

RE: Sugar Loaf Chicory?

Nothing has a flower like chicory. Google "chicory flower" and compare.

In looking for a green radicchio picture, which I thought was a possibility, I came across Grumolo Verde. Still chicory and possibly a good match. It's hard to tell now that they bolted. Save some seed and sow it next spring. See what comes of it.
