I planted Cinnamon basil this year from seed in the garden. What a beautiful herb! It does have a cinnamon smell and taste - makes wonderful pesto (toasted pecans, garlic olive oil). I like it better that the sweet basil.

I cut some and put it in a vase with water...the flowers are blooming white on a dark maroon colored stem. Very nice.

I also grew lemon basil from seed. The most aromatic basil I have ever encountered - a wonderful citrus small and taste. Fantastic!

Just wanted to share some basil alternatives to the oft grown Sweet and Genovese basils.
