Well dying may be the wrong word,
but it lost LOTS of foliage.
it went to seed, and everything turned brown and fell off.

its listed as "Hardy annual/Tender perennial. "
its about a year old. thing is, it looks worse now than it did in the winter. and the other plant is only a few months old, and the same thing happened to it. lost all the leaves

Do you grow it from seed or other means ? And where can you buy it ?

i grew it from seed
i should have some, theres a dozen or so in a pod,
and a few pods fell off.

Perhaps it would be happier in a permanent garden spot in healthy soil instead of a flower pot.

Agreed. Some plants do hate pot culture.
