cilantro goes to seed ..!!

I gave up growing cilantro to use in Southwest dishes as it goes to seed & dies too quickly! Cheaper to buy the leaves fresh in the grocery. Do others have a similar problem with this herb that doesn't survive winters where I live?

It is an annual so it would not survive winter. Read the recent posts on cilantro it goes to seed and dies quickly.

If you are in zone 7, as shown, you can plant cilantro once in early spring and once in late summer. You CANNOT grow it year round. It will bolt soon as temperatures get over 65F or so. This means, it is a cold crop. The fall planting will not bolt if it starts to cool off gradually.
Also, try to plant it in half shade, not full sun.
