Needed much more light to stand straight and be compact.

I don't think the brown part will straighten now as it already appears to have grown woody. However, the plant looks pretty healthy except it is so deep down in that big container it must be desperate for more light. Is it indoors? If so get it outside asap. And maybe transplant it into a completely filled pot so it's up in the air and light.

Will Rosemary root from the stem where it touches the soil? If so, couldn't you just replant it and cover the stem with soil? It's a pretty little one.

It will root from the stem but very slowly ie over a period of months - basically it's like layering a shrub. It won'tquickly put out roots like a deep planted tomato, for example. There is already a second stem growing vertically from the horizontal stem so the plant is effectively turning itself into its natural habit, ie a bushy shrub. The leaning stem is really nothing to worry about. But being planted down in the bottom of the container and the lack of light are.

Thanks everyone.. I will probably replant this one tomorrow. I will definitely fill the container up this time :) We've had really bad weather lately so the poor thing hasn't seen much light.
