For your enjoyment, here is a photo of my second harvest of fresh sweet and genovese basils from container plants. All went into the dehydrator. The house smells wonderful as I type this.

I minimize the planting of annual herbs in the gardens. I get nicer, cleaner harvests off of my bug-free, babied container plants. When I am ready to harvest I set the pots on upside down 5 gallon pails on the porch so I can harvest in relative comfort while sitting in a chair.
