I am growing Dill in my garden to use in pickling, but am unsure about what state to use the Dill heads. Should I wait until the flowers have completely turned into seeds? Or while they are still flowers? Somewhere in between? I used fresh Dill heads to good effect in my pickling last year, but can't quite remember what state of growth the heads were in - I just used the only ones I could find, without paying much attention. Now that I'm growing them myself, I am more aware of the full growth cycle.

Any advice much appreciated!
