You can cut off the flower stalks and it will delay bolting briefly but once it's started you can't stop it. Keep cutting out the central stems. If parsley is flowering it's on its way out. You need to sow more asap to get a continuous supply.

Thanks...feared that. I planted tons and I think we might be ok for the rest of the summer. Plus, my friends have taken their share. For some reason, it loved my SFG! LOL

So, when you say "cutting out the central stems", do you mean to cut just the central stems (the large ones) and to not cut the outside smaller ones?

By central stems I mean the flowering stems. New growth arises from the centre of the plant. If you only take outer leaves you don't slow the bolting. But there's nothing stopping you harvesting outer leaves if you want to. It's parsley growing, not nuclear physics, and nothing you do is very critical. I harvest from all over the plants depending on which leaves look fresh and tasty. Once the plants start to bolt I cut the flower stems often but it will still bolt in the end.
