Indoor Cilantro

Because of the extreme heat, I'm trying to grow Cilantro indoors. I have pots near a sunny window and under my tomato grow light. The plants have come up extremely long and stringy - maybe 4 to 5 inches with just tiny leaves at the tip.

Is this because they aren't getting enough light or something else I can fix?

Not enough light. Spend money on indoor lighting for plants or wait until cooler weather arrives to grow cilantro outdoors - which is when most folks from the Southern locales grow cilantro (if I recall correctly from various posts made here in the past.)

You could also try growing Mexican or Vietnamese coriander, plants with a cilantro-like flavor that do well in the heat.
