Wilting mint?

I have some mint cuttings that were given to me by a friend, it was giving to him as runners by his neighbor. My friend said it was chocolate mint but it smells like Ice Breakers peppermint gum when it's healthy & peppermint tea when it's wilting (I've never grown/seen strait peppermint before but I have seen chocolate mint & this doesn't smell like it). I have Black mint & that's not it.

Anyway, I'm not 100% sure what it is lol.

The cuttings have gotten roots now & since I don't live in a super hot zone, that's when I put them outside, which they are not doing good out there at all. I dunno if it's just too hot or what but during the day they wilt & at night they spruce right back up. I wasn't concerned at first but now it's getting crispy brown dead spots on the leaves & I've brought it inside to keep it from dying. My house doesn't get much direct light (none of the other dozen+ plants will tolerate it in here) so what should I do?

BTW - It's not drying out & it's not being over watered :)
