That is nice to know. I want to start doing that too. Do you keep the basil in water inside or outside?

kal2002, I keep the basil in water inside on my kitchen counter. No sun ever hits it, and it's handy for me if I want to use it in recipes. I have one showing roots now. I change the water every day or two.

I'm going to put it in a mix of perlite and peat, and let it stay in a little pot till it shows me it's going to put out new leaves. Then, outside it will go!

When you plant them outside, be sure to put them in a shady wet place till they get used to being there.

I have new basil to pick today for the next root trials!
