Mystery Basil Bug

Hi everyone, I grew a basil plant from seeds indoors and its now about a foot tall. Only problem is that these pale areas are starting to appear on the leaves with tiny blacks dots in them. On the leaves I can also see tiny tiny oblong, pale, fast moving bugs. Any ideas of what this can be?

I don't know what that is, but neem oil will most likely take care of it. Be careful because not all neem products are the same - look for one that is labeled "organic" and/or "safe for use on edibles up to the day of harvest".

I can't really see the bug well in the photo, but my guess is Thrips. The damage looks like thrips damage and they are tiny and oblong in shape.
