Lavender Died

I had about 6 beautiful lavender plants that were thriving around my pool cage. All of the sudden, they have apparently all died. Its now the rainy season. They sit in sandy mixed with potting soil, in the ground. Too much rain? Will they grow back in the fall when the rains let up? Any help appreciated. I am going to cut them down, and don't want to pull them out if they might come back. I LOVE the bees and butterflies that came around because of them!

New plants this season, I would gather?

My experience is that when lavender looks dead, it is but you can leave them to see if they bounce back.

A lot of lavenders don't like it in our heat. Some will live here, such as Godwin Creek, and I've been growing cuttings from Spanish and one other unknown, and they're fine. But if yours weren't already established when we had the heat and now the rains every day, it may have stressed them too much.
