Dying Basil?

Hi,

At the beginning of May I planted a basil seed, and she sprouted a week later. She was growing well at first, having large leaves for a seedling. About a month after she sprouted, a second pair of leaves appeared. Now, however, she's very wilted. One of her large leaves is dying (which isn't good since she only has four leaves), and the remaining leaves look like pale green potato chips. They feel silky to the touch and slightly flexible (although I haven't been touching her much out of fear of hurting her more), which probably means that she's still getting at least a bit of water.

It's been very warm here lately, and I've kept her by an open window. The window gave her between three and six hours of direct sun, and I've watered her whenever an inch of her soil was dry (which I found out by putting my finger into the soil). My best guesses as to what's happened are not enough sunlight, too much heat, or too much water.

Can anyone help me? I'd really like to keep her going. Thanks!
