What kind is the darker basil? A friend gave me some that looks just like that and hasn't flowered, but she didn't know if it was truly basil or not. Thanks!

I'm also growing the columnar basil. I started with one plant and took 5 cuttings that have done well. TBH though I have not yet harvested any because I have plenty of sweet basil growing. It does look nice in a row along the edge of the front driveway. I have tasted a bit of it and it seems decent. I guess the real test is will it make a good pesto.

How nice...I remember years ago, having to keep pinching and ultimately it flowering to death.
