Lovage -- leaf miners -- my solution

Hello all,

I started growing Lovage about 3 years ago. The first year was a great success. The last 2 have been plagued with leaf miners galore!! So much leaf miner damage that the leaves look almost white. I do believe in spraying but not usually my herbs. Here is what I did.

I made a spray of 100% PURE ORGANIC NEEM OIL mixed with Safer insect soap. I sprayed this on the plant every 7 days times 3. I make a neem soil drench -- 1 teaspoon to a gallon of distilled water and used 1 quart of this on my Lovage plants. After 4 weeks I now have perfectly healthy Lovage plants with NO leaf miner damage. I did prune the damaged leaves away. I must note here that I used PURE 100% ORGANIC NEEM. Most of the neem in stores is not organic nor is it pure 100% neem -- food grade.

Cheers,
DL
