what do you mean, grab those seed spirals quick?
use them medicinally or grab them, dry them, and plant them next season?

'Most' people in the U.S. consider this a weed, but a great many find it a desirable pot herb or medicinal plant. Do some reading up on plantains and you decide which side of the fence you belong. ;-)

Me? I don't let them reside in my yard or gardens. T-bird meant to get rid of the seeds before they start to spread from one end of your yard to the other. (At least that's what I think was meant!)

Maybe someone will jump in to tell us about the edible and medicinal properties.

I'm on the sode of a weed. Let those seeds drop anf you'll have a problem, whether or not you want to use it as a herb.

A weed is a plant that grows where you don't want it to - irregardless of what it is.

But that said, I happily share my lawn and on occasion garden with plantain. I call it "nature's bandaid." It is good on insect bites, scrapes, and "boo-boo's" in general. Mash it up and apply - some like to chew it and apply. I also make a plantain salve that is great for chapped or irritated skin.

By the way, the plant you have Plantago major or Broadleaf Plantain.

It is good to hear when someone finds good in almost all plants. Thanks for the time
