| Summer savory is easily grown under full sun and average garden conditions. It is an annual in most zones and a semi perrenial (lasts longer than one growing season but is not permanent)in milder zones. Good well drained garden soil is all it needs and if your soil is ferile it's best not to add too much fertilizer as it lowers the concentration of oils and will have less flavor. Regular trimming keeps it bushy and reduces flowering which can shorten the plant's life. The trimming can be dried for later use. It holds its flavor quite well when dried in a cool dry place. |
