| I noticed this today in the soil of my cinnamon basil. We've had a lot of rain, heat & humidity. Will this harm the plant? Is there something I can do?

| It appears to be one of the many hundreds (thousands) of species of an organism commonly known as 'slime mold', even though it's not a mold or fungus. Totally harmless, just moving through the area picking up bits of organic matter to decompose. You needn't do anything, but if it disturbs you, simply take a rake to it. |
