Mullen Please help

I tried doing a search but keep getting crazy information. I am over my head with responsibilities or I would do the research myself.

My cousin needs some dried Mullen for tea. I have the Mullen but don't know when to harvest or how to dry it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Lynn

Harvest leaves from the first-year rosettes and lay on screens or paper toweling to dry. That's it.

Thank you so much. I will be able to have some dried before her next visit. And with it that easy maybe I can get caught up on some of the other requests I have pending. How does one learn to say "NO!!"?

I agree with Fata. Since Mullein is a biennial, the strength of the plant all goes into seed stalk making the second year, and is poor for herb tea. As you know, the first year it lies pretty flat on the ground and looks somewhat like a large plantain. It will come back the second year and make seeds anyway, even if you harvest most of the first-year leaves. Rick
