Beginning gardener looking for advice

Hi guys!

I started a vegetable/herb garden this year, and I was hoping to get a little advice on how I can improve each of these basil plants.

The taller one is a lemon basil, shorter is regular. I repotted them yesterday to an indoor setting, as it was beginning to get a bit cold for them outdoors.

I did some research yesterday and realized that you aren't supposed to let basil get so leggy and tall, also that it shouldn't be allowed to flower. As you can see, each of these are overgrown, especially the lemon basil. I would estimate that the lemon basil is about 20 inches tall?

Yesterday I snipped off any flower buds from the lemon basil, the regular hasn't had any flowers yet. At this stage with them being as tall as they are, is it too late to prune it back and allow it to grow fuller? If it's not, how would you suggest I go about achieving that?

I'd appreciate any advice I can get, thank you!
