I read somewhere that it is not advisable to plants herb too close together. ie If two different type of Mint are planted too close, they will influence each other's flavor.

If I plant them in pots, can they be placed close together? How close is too close?

I am thinking of doing a few different kind of mint, some basil, thyme and oregano. Love to plant a Bay Laurel too but not sure if they will be happy in pots.

I have some 20" pots, would they be too big for Mints?
