It does look like a common culinary sage. Possibly a Berrgarten due to the shape of the leaves. I would agree that it is safe to use, and looks happy.

Yay! Thank you! I figured that's what it was at first, but when I googled sage and everyone was talking about it as though it always flowered and there was no mention of a non-flowering strain, I was really confused! Thanks for your help!

Looks like that is correct. It says that it rarely flowers.

I was also going to suggest S.o. Berggarten. I once had this and I don't recall it ever blooming.

I find sage rather short-lived 5-10 years tops. So when this plant just starts to get kind of straggly, plant a another young sage plant. By the time the first isn't producing well, you will have another established plant to harvest from.

I personally prefer the normal culinary sage, S. officinalis as opposed to Berggarten. It blooms early summer (beautiful purple blooms are a bonus!) and is very hardy, tasty, and productive. Be sure to give this one a try as your next sage. See which you prefer!
