newly planted lemon grass fungus-- how to kill

I have a lemon grass base that was rooted in water. It was planted in soil last week, and I thought it was doing well. It's even putting out a new green leaf. Sigh. There is a fuzzy white fungus newly visible on its base near the soil level. Any suggestions for getting rid of this fungus? Much appreciated.

Is it is an indoor plant? Usually I don't see the "fungus" like that except on plants kept indoors with soil that is kept too wet.

Let it dry out some. Or put in a sheltered location outdoors for a bit. Molds and fungus seem to resent the sun and wind and your zone should still be more than warm enough.

Thank you. Will do. I did take it out when it was warm today. I see some people think corn meal gets rid of fungus; perhaps sprinkling that on the soil and base of plant will help, too.
