It is not something that I quickly recognize as being a culinary or medicinal herb so you may wish to ask on the Name that plant forum. The folks there are truly amazing!

I don't know where you are but it looks a bit like
Japanese Knotweed, an invasive plant. Is there more in your neighborhood?

no that is the only plant.
resveratrol is obtained from the root of this plant I believe.

RE: What is this Herb?

Resveratrol is produced by many different kinds of plants. And more are being discovered all the time. Japanese knotweed is, indeed, one of the plants that this chemical is often extracted from.

Lots of controversy about the effects of this chemical, both benign and not so friendly.

I am 99.9999% certain it's not JK. It looks similar to mulberry. Are there any in the area?
