Help! Hyssop officinals - not edible- yes or no??

My Herb book says this one in not edible. There is conflicting advice on the Web. Need advice that's for sure!!
I can grow 'Officinals' easily as a perennial. I am in zone 3- but the 'Anise' Hyssop is hardy to zone 5 which will not work for me. I want to grow Hyssop as a medicinal plant. Judy- in Norther Wisconsin .

Hyssopus officinalis, despite the common name, is not very closely related to Agastache foeniculum, Anise Hyssop. There's quite comprehensive info at the link.
