The problem I find with Rose Hips is that they have a lot of hair like fiberglass. There is a variety known as LANDSCAPE roses that are big, meaty and NO hair but a lot of seeds.

I believe most are basically the same as far as nutritional content. But like all fruit, some varieties are larger, meatier, and tastier than others. It doesn't mean the others are bad, it just means there ones that are better. The hips on my Rosa rugosa "Alba" were so large and tasty this year that you could just munch the fleshy bits fresh out of hand - avoiding the hairy centers of course.
