A bit of a surprise

Thanksgiving Day - went to the. Garden to get Culinary Sage, ground it with oil, garlic, thyme, salt, pepper and rubbed all over the roast. When daughter added the same Sage to her dressing she said it didn't smell right.

I strongly believe the Culinary Sage pot has been taken over by S. Apiana.

DD was able to remake the dressing, but the roast roasted with its herb mixture as made. It tasted fine, and no one became ill.

Winter (our Great Equalizer here) would keep that from ever happening. We had a white Thanksgiving this year with 6+" of snow cover here since tuesday. Not surprisingly, white sage isn't hardy in my zone.

It is always fascinating to see the difference in what other gardeners in other locations see happening in their gardens. I included a link to the PFAF white sage entry. Might be of interest. Hope you had a great holiday!
