One thing you want to watch with herbs is soils that already have fertilizers mixed in, or some of the new ones that have "moisture-retention" molecules--basically gel balls that hold moisture and aren't organic, so I doubt you have that. You also don't mention whether you're talking potted or in-ground. They differ a bit. I don't have a specific brand that I prefer specifically, but look for the soil components.

Most herbs require lots of drainage in their soil, especially rosemary, and don't need a rich soil. Basil and Mint like their water, so you don't need to let it dry out completely as with the arid types, but they don't like sitting in water. Also, if you're looking at mint in a pot, make sure it's big enough! The roots will quickly take over.
