All three of those require lots of sun, and soil with very good drainage (if you put them in a 'bottom' area that fills and holds water, they'll root rot fast). They should be okay--thyme and sage survive winter here, but do lose all foliage before coming back. The rosemary really depends on the varietal--some are more cold tolerant than others and I doubt your multi-pot specifies.

As a first step I'd put the container outside by degrees to harden the plants off i.e. to get them used to the light and temperature conditions. Then I'd plant them out individually in the ground following the usual guidance for Mediterranean herbs. That way they don't have to deal with all the changes at once.

This is a Mediterranean climate. It's funny. California is loaded with micro-climates. There are miles of commercial orange groves in the valley below, and you can hear the turbines kick on at night when the temps drop below freezing (and that's a rare thing). Up here in the hills overlooking the groves, the temps are much warmer. Heat rises, I guess. You can watch the temperature drop on the car as you drive up the hill.

I love the advice of taking them outside so they can get used to it prior to planting them. I love them all and hope they live. Our soil is very well drained. Decomposed granite. Slippery stuff, but no puddles ever!

I can take no credit for that idea. This is standard practice for anything which has been raised or grown inside prior to planting outdoors. It's called 'hardening off'. You'd need to do it if you started seeds indoors too.

After "hardening off" comes the soil type and drainage.
All those 3 herbs are Perennials and will be there for years, granted they are well taken care of. So be aware of the space. Especially, Rosemary can get HUGE if left unchecked.

Besides, soil drainage requirement, they like alkaline soil over acidic. (pH 7 ++).
As far as sunlight, any amount of it from 6 hours and more is fine. My sage and Thyme and oregano are doing ok with 5 hours but could do much better with 7+ hours.
