Did anyone try to hybridize Heucheras? I was thinking that it would be interesting. Many of us have all these exciting old and new varieties. Now, when many Heucheras are blooming, it is probably a good time to cross pollinate.

If you did this before, can you share your experience? What is the technique for pollinating and collecting the seeds?

RE: Hybridization?

I've only had accidental cross pollination between Purple Palace and Bressingham that resulted in a mahogany colored leafed heuchera. It's 2 years old now and has sharply edged waxy leaves, none of the curved edges of either parent and it blooms with white flowers. It's not particularly pretty but I'm waiting on it to grow up more before I pass judgement.
