Blooming in winter?

Three of my heuchera are putting out flower spikes. One is fully open, another has one about 8" high, and I just noticed a third plant has two new ones showing. I did not know they would bloom this time of year (December); the Peppermint Spice is supposed to bloom in June-July. I'm wondering how I should treat them when frost happens...we don't get snow where I live in California, but can get some occasional temps a little below 32 deg. Should I cover them with frost cloth to protect the blooms?
